I always have loved the name Homer, but just couldn't use it because of Homer Simpson. Plus, Homo would probably be a common nickname, and that would suck.

I doubt anyone is called Homer anymore. Bart is pretty bad too, yet there's nothing wrong with the other names like Lisa... hmm
