I need some help naming characters.

The first is a male. He's the outgoing, energetic, goofy, playfully egotistical type. His name is currently Aaron. Not sure I'm completely sold that, but I definitely want him to have some kind of fun nickname to fit his personality.

And his girlfriend is the other character. She's a bit more reserved, but has enough energy and personality to keep up with him. Her name is currently Gabby. I'm not sold; despite having a friend with the name, it brings me back to my Ghostwriter obsessed days.

I like Aaron but what about Andrew (nn Drew or Andy)?
How about Alexandra for the girl? (nn Alex, Lexi, Xandra)

I think Aaron fits the character a lot :)
but other suggestions from me would be Brandon, Isaac or Gabriel. I think Gabe works as a fun a nickname.

For her, I suggest Kelly or Francesca.

Aaron fits the male very well. (and accurately describes all Aaron's I've actually met)

The girlfriend though... I DO NOT associate reserved with Gabby, I associate super outgoing, hyper, crazy.

How about Anna, or Lindsay?

Hm, to me Aaron is a much more serious name than Gabby. They're not bad names, by any means, but if I were picking... let's see...

Jake and Christie
TJ and Sarah
Cal (short for something he finds embarrassing, like Calvin) and Morgan
