Apr. 18th, 2011 10:07 pmthe work that i'm doing right now requires a significant amount of mailings. most of the names are fairly common, but today while labeling, my coworkers came across a fun one:
twinkle
what gender do you think this name is? what nicknames do you think he/she goes by? how scarring do you think this name was, if at all? the owner was born in the early nineties and the last name suggests that at least part of his/her family is indian.
i personally assumed it was a girl who rocked "twinkle"...

Date: 2011-04-19 05:56 pm (UTC)As for how traumatizing that name could be...it's hard to say. Because it strikes me as a rather feminine name, it would probably be worse for a boy, especially in middle school. As an adult, though, it could be one of those names that you just get over once you've heard it a couple of times. Like River, Meadow, or Star (though I admit I like any of those names better than Twinkle, but that's beside the point).
