Apr. 5th, 2011 10:06 pmA woman and her young daughter came into work the other day to pick up a book they had ordered under the daughter's name. And her daughter's name is Dailyn. Not pronounced daily-in, or daily-n, but more like day-lynn.
I only hope I didn't visibly cringe when she said it at the counter. But WDYT?

Date: 2011-04-06 01:04 pm (UTC)When I read it, it reminded me of my neighbors' story - his name was Jerry, and when they got pregnant with their 3rd child they knew they weren't going to have any more kids, so the possibility of having a "Jerry Jr" was fading away fast when he found out that kid #3 was a girl. The result? A daughter named Jerilyn.
When I hear Dailyn I picture the same scenario, only with a guy named Dale. It's okay, but nms.
