[identity profile] -------1997.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I posted a few entries back, see: list

Despite many of the opinions I heard, I am pretty set on the names Audrina & Michael. However, after browsing through some name websites I found Adrina. I can't decide..

Adrina vs. Audrina

I think I prefer Audrina. The only real appeal that Adrina has for me is that its Italian, Audrina is not--as far as I've read. Same pronounciation, does spelling make all the difference? I suppose it does. Also, what kind of NN's are there for a name like Audrina/Adrina?

As for those two names (Audrina/Adrina & Michael)-- I am now on a hunt for middle names. I insist on having 2 middle names for each, that is tradition in my family. For Michael, one middle name must be Scott. The other name I would like to be something Italian.. Like Umberto-- Michael Umberto Scott? Maybe not, does that sound funny? For Audrina/Adrina I think I like Audrina Natalia Marie. But I would like to incorporate my fiance's mothers name (Carla) into the name but having three names ending in A seems odd.

What do you think?

I think Michael Scott Umberto sounds better. Actually sounds pretty good to me which considering I hate the name Michael (personal reason) is pretty good I think.

Audrina/Adrina Carla Marie sounds good to me. Or Audrina/Adrina Carla Maria too. Natalia doesn't flow with Audrina/Adrina to me.

i would not pronounce adrina and audrina the same, and they have very different feels to me. i think audrina feels fuller and classier. adrina seems a little empty and more along the lines of ditzy names like bambi and candi. if that makes any sense.

Adrina is the spelling I prefer.. the u in there just makes the name look ugly to me.. i dont know why.. When I searched on baby names for italian names it wasnt even on there.. all I found that was close was adriana and ANDREINA

Natalia takes away from adrina bc they are both so bold and rich and have too many syllables.

Adrina Grace Marie
Adrina Carmina Marie
Adrina Maria Celeste
Adrina Celia Marie (favorite)

as for Michael

Michael Costantino Scott

Personally, I prefer Audrina. I fell in love with the name from the VC Andrews book "My Dear Sweet Audrina" (the story was a bit strange, but I still love the name). :)

And like some have said above, Natalia doesn't really work with Audrina. How about Natalie instead?

Mwah! I was just about to say that "Audrina" made me think of the VC Andrews book...what a twisted story :-/

Rather than either "Audrina" or "Adrina," have you considered the possibility of "Adriana"? That's certainly Italian, and prettier than either of the two (IMO, of course.)

Re: middle names - How about "Giavanna"?

Audrina makes me think of the chick from The Hills.

But that's probably because her name is Audrina.

My best friend's husband is Italian and his middle name is Aniello (Uh-nell-oh in my lil hick girl accent)

Michael Aniello Scott
Michael Scott Aniello

I think Audrina Carla Natalia (lastname) will sound ok as long as "lastname" doesnt end in the a sound too. They're all different/strong enough names that the "a" doesnt just blend together for me.
