Oh thanks for the help on the pronunciation. I'm from Australia, and we say it like Dree-uh. How would you prounounce Andrea? Like An-Dree-uh, or like An-Dray-uh?
I have a friend who goes by this. Her name is Andrea (On-dray-uh). However, she pronounces it Dray-uh, as would I. I don't think it's bad, but I prefer Andrea to Drea and the pron. Dray-uh to Dree-uh. Really don't like the way your version sounds.
I know a Drea, pronounced Dray-uh, short for Andrea.
I've always found Dray-uh to be unfeminine and ugly, but that is probably because it is my awful SIL's name and she is just horrible in general.
I can see it being short for Adria, but then I like it spelled Dria, which makes the dree-uh pronunciation more clear. I think dree-uh is much prettier than dray-uh. ;)
