When you hear the name Levi what do you think of?

We've been struggling with names for baby boy (due in about 2 weeks), and yesterday my husband and I both had this name pop into our heads when we were not together. Kind of strange, maybe inspiration HaHa?! ;)
It's not a name that I ever thought I would use, but it's kind of sticking (at least enough to put on our "consider" list), so I am just curious, what do people think of when they hear the name? ..Jeans, the Palin family/Levi Johnston, the Bible? Or do you not think anything, and it's just another name?

It's one of my favorite names. The association is definitely Biblical for me.

I think of my great-grandpa whose name was Levi.

We briefly considered it as a middle name for our third son. My husbands name is Jacob so we thought it'd be fitting ;)

Unfortunately I do think of the dude that got Bristol Palin pregnant. :(

That was my second choice for a boy name. Nothing in particular pops in my head when I hear it, though :)

But when I sit on it more, it's definitely Biblical and therefore a positive association (for me.)

I think of both jeans and Levi Johnston, plus a guy I know named Levi who is a drug dealer. Not a name I would ever consider, but I think it's cool you both thought of it separately.

I don't know what I think, just the image of how I picture a Levi would look...yeah, Levi Johnston does come up. I never ever think Biblical. I just really love the name.

I do think jeans, but then again I'm not really a fan of the name in general (so I'm not attached to it - hence no special connotation apart from jeans).

my first thought was "it's a name" because it's getting common enough that I don't think of anything in particular. second thought was biblical. didn't think of the other things until I got to the bottom of your post.

I think it's a great name. I think Bible, but in a modern funky way not like old man in a long beard and robes kind of way. Levi has character, but is also solid, unlike so many boys names which have either one or the other but not both.

I think of an amish guy, but that's because I'm from Holmes Co, Ohio. hahah. :D

I definitely think "Biblical name," but I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm not even a Christian but I like a LOT of names that I first and foremost associate with the Bible.

I have a great-uncle named Levi, and it's one of my husband's top picks (the family connection just makes it better). But personally I'm kind of eh on it because the jeans association is too strong in my head. Though I'm not completely against it, and I do like Lee as a nickname (but not as a given name). It's becoming fairly popular, so the jeans association will probably fade as more and more boys with the name pop up.

I think of a 4 year old that I taught last year who continually peed in the garden! Lol, that and the jeans. =]

It's sort of a weird name for me because I love the name Lev so much, and dislike Levi so much. Even though the spelling is so close, the sound is totally different and it is just a really different name to me.

To be honest, my first thought is Levi Johnston. But, unless we have President Palin in 2012, I doubt anyone will think of Levi Johnston in 5 years. Also, I went to school with a horrible kid with a trailer trash mullet named Levi Indigo (which just reminded me of blue jeans!) and he was horrible. He ran into a fence post in the sixth grade and knocked out 1/2 his teeth. (Which only added to his redneck image...)
But aside from my personal associations with the name, I think Levi is making a comeback. You are starting to see it with hip biblical names, the same kind of parents who are favoring Elijah and Ezekiel and Jonah and Roman, so I think it is coming back big. :)
