I love that name, and to me it doesn't directly reference twilight. I have always loved Isabella/Isobel/Isabel as it is a family name and SO and I both have family members on both sides named that.

I never would have made the Twilight connection. Then again, I haven't read the books.

It's too bland for my taste, but has a nice flow to it.

In their defense, it's cleverly disguised, because it's also a pretty regular name.
I hate the sound of Dawn, it's like you're making annoying noises, but I love so much the name Isabella. I think they sound good together

i like it :) Normally I wouldn't be a fan of Dawn, but paired with Isabella it's nice. The only thing I don't like it about is Isabella Dawn. The I.D. part bothers me for some reason.

i wouldn't have made any twilight connections because... i haven't read/watched/heard anything about twilight. I think I may be the only person in America who's completely ignored any-and-all things Twilight - LOL! :)

I have a daughter named Esme and a friend is having a baby soon that she's naming Bella. She considered changing it because of Twilight but I told her if she really LOVES the name, just ignore it and go with what you want so you don't regret it. I get a lot of Twilight comments but I don't care because she's my little Ezzie and no other name would fit her.

If it weren't for this community, I wouldn't know Esme was a Twilight name. Although many people have, not EVERYONE has read Twilight. Also...here in The Netherlands, Esmee (spelled this way and pronounced Es-MAY) has been relatively common for a pretty long time =).

Yes, pronounced Es-May, I know I gave her the male spelling but I didn't like the look of the double E.

Unfortunately I'd say it's a good 60% who call out Twilight when they hear her name. The older people don't, but I'd say anyone 30 and under mention it.

I found the name in Twilight so I feel almost guilty for naming her after a character, even though it's not really after the character, just where I first saw the name. That'd be like saying my son is named after Elijah Wood, I just happened to see his name as a girl and thought it was an awesome boy name! Not because OMG ELIJAH WOOD IS AWESOME. heh.

Fair enough! I don't think people will call out Twilight in another...say, 10 years from now though. Esme(e) is a pretty name!

When will people understand that Isabella was popular before Twilight was even thought of? :P

Seriously, though. Isabella was popular before Twilight. Dawn is a fairly standard middle name. I never would have made the connection.
