This show is one of my guilty pleasures, I watch it because it is like a train wreck and find it hard to believe there are parents that crazy out there, it is also a wealth of weird names.

One today was

Sparkal Queenz - African American girl, she was 7 years old.

I think it's horribly tacky and doubt anyone else will think otherwise! Just wondering, was there a need to mention the girl was 'African American'?

I just mentioned it because she was, rather simple really. If she was Jewish or Italian or English or Hawai'ian as my husband is, I would have mentioned it because sometimes names some cultural backgrounds deem 'odd' are quite common in others.

oh right, fair enough. I don't think this name is likely to be popular in any culture- African American or otherwise! It's clearly made up, poor kid.

I can't remember where she was from, but as an Australian, I find a lot of the names on there rather odd, but that is probably a cultural thing.
