I was reading the newspaper today and I saw a birth announcement for a girl I graduated with. She had a daughter and she named her Rebbca. I HATE that. I'm hoping the newspaper misprinted it... because otherwise that's a horrible creative spelling. What do you think?

WOW. I really, really, really hope it's a typo. Really.

Yeah. Maybe it's a typo for a really bad creative spelling, but not as bad as Rebbca. Maybe it's Rebbeca or something. I don't know, I'm just hoping, haha. Poor kid!

Some people freak out and can't spell anything with double consonants in it. But maybe the name is actually pronounced "reb-ka" :-S

Ewww. I hope its a typo.

Ugh. Why would somebody name their kid that?

[identity profile] darabelle.livejournal.com 2006-07-27 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
It sort of reminds me of the Hebrew name Rivkah.

It's just... not even Rebecca at all. Wow.

I just heard of a lady (Inuit) whose name is Rebque. I think it's fine.

maybe its not a creative spelling...maybe the name is Rebbca (Reb-KA). Or maybe it is a typo and the name is Rebbeca (reb-EH-ka).

Or maybe you're right and thats horrible :\

yikes. That's terrible. I would prn it Reb-cah, not Ruh-bec-uh.
