Interesting name-based News story that I thought may be of interest. I didn't spot it, but if it has already been posted I aplogise.

I really like Dorcas, actually, except I would never use it if I were living in an English-speaking country because of the 'dork' part. Too bad!

There's a Dutch television person called Filemon, the Dutch spelling of Philemon. I think it's quite nice. We also have a university called the Radboud University...but I really don't like that as a name for a child.

Not mentioned, but I also like Eliezer - although I guess that one's quite popular in Jewish families.

I've heard and seen Zipporah before... seems more common than the other names on that list.

I also know a woman who went by Jezebel to ~rebel~ against society, I guess. She fit the bill, but it totally ruined that name for me.

Jezzabel and Delilah (http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art15729.asp) both have equally negative connotations. But I admit, Delilah is beautiful and I'd seriously consider it...you know, if she wasn't such a bad person and all.

I actually like the name Zipporah, but I would never use it. I saw it first in a (fictional) book about the Holocaust, though it was spelled Tzipporah. So, I associate it as being more of a "Jewish" name.

I love the name Zipporah, as a matter of fact. It's been on and off my "list" for awhile.
