i was watching comedy central this weekend, and the comedian featured on Comedy Central Presents was named Myq Kaplan.

He said "I'm all about efficiency... my name is proof!"

This is the first time I've seen Mike spelled this way... anybody else?

Oh I liked him when he was on Last Comic Standing.

Aside from that, I've never seen any one else with that spelling. I guess, I assumed it was ethnic? and didn't give it much more thought, he was too busy making making me laugh. =)

awww i used to watch Last Comic Standing.. then i kinda got away from TV! i miss that show :)

i thought about that it may be ethnic too, then i thought maybe he was just trying to get his name to stand out and be noticed. He is really funny, though :)

I think I remember him talking about changing it to that spelling as an adult - that "Myq" wasn't the given spelling of his name at birth - but I could be wrong on that.

I think a lot of people change their name when they get into the public eye.. i hadn't even noticed what his name was then he referred to it and I finally noticed. it took me a while to figure out what it was supposed to be... i kept saying "my-que??"

I've seen it Myke, but that's the only deviation from Mike that I've seen before.

Never seen Myq. Also can't fathom how having to explain your name to everyone you meet is remotely efficient. But maybe that's the joke?
