One of my friends on Facebook is due in January.  From her status updates, I knew she was naming her son Eli.  Today she announced his full name:

Elihue David

Thoughts?  I've never heard this name before and I'm unsure how it's pronounced, but it simply looks strange to me.

I can only guess that's supposed to be pronounced Eliyahu, which is the Hebrew version (transliterated) of Elijah.
I don't really like that spelling.

I like it! I believe the standard spelling is Elihu. It's pronounced ee-LIE-hyoo.

Switch them around and it's one letter off from the first and last name of a boy I knew in high school.
