Friend's Baby

Last week I posted that my friend was set to give birth at any day. She had the baby the other day. A little girl:

Apryl Lilly

I don't love it. First of all, the baby was born in December, which is an irrational thought for me to have, but whatever. Secondly, I don't love the spelling of either name. Thirdly, Apryl's last name starts out with the letters "atril", which I think is a bit weird. (Though my name is Caitlin, and parents chose not to spell it Caitlyn, as then my full name would read Caitlyn Lyn____, so sort of the same thing.) Fourthly, the baby is freaking adorable, so maybe it doesn't matter all that much. *grin*

The name itself is kind of kitschy, but I suppose if you like that sort of thing...

I would have much prefered "April Lilly". The Y in Apryl is really akward. It looks like a pharmaceutical name.

Apryl is terrible, and Apryl Lilly sounds awkward. Too many L's.

I don't like the spelling, but it's not the worst version of that name I've seen. I went to school with an Apryle.

This is honestly the second time I've seen the spelling Apryl. The first time was a friend of mine in college and it was a stage she went through in middle school and her friends from that age thought it was weird when she had her legal spelling (April) on her Facebook. (Or something to that affect).

I was actually looking here to see if someone posted Apryl Lily because one was just posted to the pregnant community within the last week, though I don't remember the date off the top of my head.
Apryl? Seriously? Poor kid.
