My name is Nina and I'm 28 years old. When I introduce myself to people I try to say my name as clear as possible, but somehow people still get it wrong! I have been called "Tina" so many times in my life, more as an adult than I child though. I've also heard Lina, Dina, Gina, Mina, and even Nita. I also get the question, "Is it pronounced N'e'na or N'i'na?" My 3rd grade teacher, no matter how many times I corrected her, would still call me N'i'na. Why is such a simple name like mine so hard to hear or read?

I KNOW RIGHT? My boyfriend's dad calls me AYESHLEY every time I see him and I want to stab myself in the eye! I think it's more of an accent or dialect thing rather than a mispronunciation, but still... it's stupid! :P
