[identity profile] chillinbabejodi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

I've recently decided that I like the name Amelia. WDYT? Does the nn Millie work? Any ideas of middle names? Does Sophie/Sophia flow?

Also, your opinions and/or suggestions please:

Amelia "Millie" - need a middle, help please?
Maya Sophie/Sophia
Eleanor "Lena" - need a middle help please?
Lily Theresa
Alice - middle name help

Dylan John
Henry Daniel
Bradley Joseph
Lewis Benjamin - not sure I like this combo..
Zachary Nicholas - or this one

Edit - I've changed a couple of the combo's slightly

I think I recall seeing Amelia on one of those 'up and coming popular name lists' I love it. I think Millie is a cute nn. I've also heard Leah as a nn.
What about
Amelia Jane
Amelia Grace
Amelia Faith
Amelia Ann
Amelia Sue

Amelia "Millie" - need a middle, help please?
I like Millie as a nn. Or Amy. Maybe Amelia Eloise, it sounds better than Alice Eloise.

Maya Sophie - I don't like this one, I keep saying it my head and wanting to say "Maya Sophia" which I DO like, but Maya Sophie doesn't roll off easily.

Eleanor "Lena" - need a middle help please? I actually really like Eleanor Amelia, Eleanor is a strong name and Amelia balances it out nicely. Or Eleanor Noelle, Eleanor Marie, Eleanor Paige
Lily Theresa - This one is my favorite I think.
Alice Eloise - Too similar sounding. I like Eloise better with Amelia.

Dylan John - don't really like these together
Henry Daniel - Same as above
Bradley Joseph - I love this one!
Lewis Benjamin - I like it when it's Benjamin Lewis
Zachary Nicholas - I don't mind

My oldest daughter is Amelia Rose Marie (like Rosemary, the herb). Rose seems to be popular as a mn. I call her Millie. Have ever since I saw Dead Like Me, lol! My mom calls her 'Ah-May' I LOVE the name, always get compliments on it and have only personally met one other Amelia, and she was mid 20's.

As for the other names....I'm horrible with mn, but I do like all of your names. Especially Alice...I've recently decided it is a very pretty name, however with another daughter named Esme, I figure I may want to steer clear of Alice should we have another girl! Lily is another name I just LOVE but the husband always vetoed it. And Henry is also great and will be apart of our boy name, should we ever have one. Abnd Benjamin is a guilty pleasure of mine, I'd never use it, nms, but I find the name adorable on little boys:)

I love the name Amelia, but I hate the NN Mellie - it seems to childish and juvenile, keeping in mind that your child is going to go through life with that NN. I prefer Amy, or Mia. I would pair Amelia Sophie, Amelia Elizabeth, Amelia Stefanie.

Eleanor Grace is particularly beautiful, but I prefer the NN Elle or Ella for it.

Lily Therese has a slightly more flowing ring to it, IMO.

I think NN millie is really cute - but I dont understand why people would name their kid a certain name only to use a nickname. Just nms.

Anyway I like Amelia but I dont think Sophie/Sophia flows very well with it.

I think Lily Theresa is really pretty

I had to LOL @ your boy name because my husbands name is Zachary & our last name is similar to Nicholas :p

That makes sense. I guess when I think of NNs I think of them being called that ALL the time.

Love the name Elsa, btw!

Seriously, if I were to have a daughter right this second, she would probably be named Amelia. I think it's a great name. I prefer the nick-name Amy to Millie, because Millie feels a little old to me, but either works just fine. I wouldn't go with Sophia as a middle name, though. Too many "ia"s in one name. I'm just not a fan of Amelia Sophie. Can't put my finger on why.

Amelia Grace
Amelia Violet
Amelia Rose
Amelia May
Amelia Elizabeth

I don't have time to think of suggestions for the others, but I might post back later.

My good friend's daughter is Amelia Grace. It is gaining in popularity big time. This Amelia isn't the only one in her daycare class and the teachers mix their stuff up all the time.

My daughter is Eleanor Rebekah, and generally goes by Nora.

I don't like Amelia Sophia together. As was mentioned above, too many "ia"s in one name, but I think Amelia Sophie would be fine.

I love Amelia but dislike the nm Millie. That's what people called me when I was a kid (my name is Emilie) and I just couldn't stand it. Now people call me Em which is much better. But really, I love Amelia as it is, no nn needed.:)

I love Amelia AND Millie. I wouldn't necessarily have thought of Millie as a nickname for Amelia, but I definitely think it works!

I love Sophia, but for me there are probably too many A's for it to work as a middle name for Amelia. I love Eleanor too, although I don't know that Amelia Eleanor sounds great.

I also like:

Dylan John
Henry
