Middle name?
Dec. 12th, 2010 09:33 pmSo, my husband and I are pretty set on the first name Atticus. We're due in three weeks :)
First of all, what do you guys think of that name? I'm not up on any trends - is it too trendy? Too dorky? Our second choice is Matthias...
Our last name is Acquaviva.
I'd love to be able to have a middle name to honor my family - my father is my best friend and has taken care of me from day one. The trouble is that I don't think any of the names that would represent him or that side of the family sound good with ANY of our name picks...we could use the last name as a middle name (Kern), or we could use Jeffrey or Richard.
Any suggestions? And if nothing fits with Atticus - any first names that would go well with one of those middle names plus Acquaviva as a last name?
(FYI Acquaviva is pronounced like aquafina)

Date: 2010-12-13 04:13 am (UTC)I like the suggestion someone else made of researching names with similar meanings to Jeffrey and Richard. I also like the way Kern sounds with both Atticus and Matthias. Having one syllable in the middle of two larger names flows well.

Date: 2010-12-13 08:22 am (UTC)I think with Kern as a middle, there will be too many K sounds in the name. Out of the ones listed, I think Richard flows best. It's kind of boring, tbh, matched with a name like Atticus, but I think it's a good way to honor your dad.

I think both Jeffrey and Richard would work, but I kind of prefer the former.
