[identity profile] bambiblake007.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

a friend of mine announced on fb that he's going to be a daddy in a couple months. he said it's a girl and they're naming her, Bailey Lee. i like Bailey ok (i kno a lil girl named this) but i prefer Baylee for a girl and Bailey for a boy. Lee is fine as a middle name, if it's got meaning (a lot of ppl in my family have the middle name Lee), otherwise i think it's more of a filler middle name and not given much thought. it's a cute name, i guess, but it's not my style because it's too much of the "lee" sound repeating imo. sooo wdyt?

Bailey Lee... Bay Lee Lee. I don't get the point of having the repetitive sounds. I'd definitely give her a different middle name. Also, for some reason, I always think of Bailey being a dog's name. I know that's probably terrible, but it's just what I associate.

I like both names but they just don't work together.

Bailey Lee is eh. Too much of the same sound.

That being said, I prefer Bailey for a boy.

It's funny, because due to Baylee Littrell I think of "Baylee" being a valid spelling for a boy's name, lol.

I agree- the sound is too repetitive.

I had a stuffed cow named Bailey, so now all I can think of is cows (or dogs) and farms. =/ Even with out that association, I don't like it. What else...? I prefer it on boys and find Baylee weird looking (I've never seen it irl).
I like Lee (Leigh for girls).

I think Baylee is awful, Bailey is ok but Bailey Lee is repetitive and difficult to say.

Why would you take a perfectly decent name like Bailey and butcher it into Baylee?

This was also gonna be my question.

In addition to that, I agree that Bailey Lee is super repetitive.

Bailey Lee is bad. Why would you use Lee when Baily ends with a -lee sound?

I really dislike the name Bailey anyway, and Lee to me, is a masculine name.

I like Bailey. I don't like Lee. Because it's my middle name (and my mom's) and I feel like I should've been Leigh instead of being named after a pair of stupid jeans. lol. But Bailey Lee... is awful. Seriously.

Bailey Lee is definitely too repetitive...
Even something like Bailey LeAnn would be better, because it changes the stress of the "Lee" sound in the middle name.

I...don't understand giving it the middle name Lee when the first name ends in the exact same sound.
Bay Lee Lee.

VERY much too much Lee. Sounds like you have a stutter when you say the name. Bailey isn't my style anyway but I do have a hard time seeing it on a girl. It's one of the rare cases where I prefer an unconventional spelling, to femininize it-- Baylee, Bayli, whatever.
