I know this has been talked about before, but I'd like to ask it again:

How do you guys overcome when a close family member/friend doesn't like your choice of name?

This is purely hypothetical on my end, because I don't even have a boyfriend at the moment lol, so obviously babies are a long way off.

But I am, of course, obsessed with names. My family knows this, but generally the only person I tell is my sister. However, last time I was home, I was playing a board game with my mom and sister and my sister blurts out some names that I like and my mom is all *screwed up face*. My very favorite girl name at the moment is Alexandra, which she likes, but one of my very favorite is also Gwendolyn (might even be my second contendor at the moment) and she thinks that it's too 'old-fashioned'. I tend to like names that are older, while I think she would prefer more up-to-date names, which .. no thanks. I'll have to remind her that MY name is Julianne, and she obviously didn't think that every girl in my class was going to have my name, so.... :p

But yeah. How did you guys break the names to people who may not have liked them, and how did it go?
