AH, no way. I got an email a while ago from a friend saying a girl who went to high school with us had a baby. Which, on its own, wow, but she named the kid Burgundy Quinn. It sounds like a stripper's name to me. (Sorry to anyone who likes it.)
I've known two Burkes. One was a guy who I went to high school with. He was really cute back then. Ended up moving to Hollywood to become a big star. To my knowledge hough the closest he got was a Big Red gum commercial. Still it was cool to see him on that every time it came one. Oh, I take that back. I had to google him and found he's done more. Cool (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0730902/). Random, sorry.
The other Burke is my friends 4 year old son.
Burgandy doesn't do much for me, though it could be a lot worse. I don't tend to like B names in general.
All I can think of when I hear/see the name Burgundy is Ron Burgundy, from the movie Anchorman... needless to say, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth=)
In Britain at least, "berk" (pronounced the same as Burk) is slang for an idiot, heh. It's not that commonly used anymore, but I still would not name a child it, for that reason.
