Our Daughter is named:

Winter Janice Stewart

We're trying to figure out names for her sibling due in January but we are coming up dry, in my pregnant state I really shouldn't be responsible for naming a child, or I'll wind up naming him or her Toenail Rimz Stewart or something equally horrid.

Someone suggested Frost to us as a joke but I really like it, I'd like it a LOT more if we didn't already have Winter.
For a boy I'd go with something a little more err, say, traditional, I just feel like a girl can carry a more unique name a little easier, maybe it's because my siblings were Jason (M) Vashti (f) Todd (m) Danica (f) and Brodie (M)

My name is Danica (obv) and my husband is named Mike, so a combo name is either Dike or Manica, :P

Halp?

Frost does have a cool (no pun intended) sound to it, but I agree it's too much with Winter.

Suggestions:

Otis
Julian
Evander
Rhys
Reid
Noel
Finn
Vince/Vincent
Leo
Nathaniel

Maeve
Luna
Sophie
Iona
Levana
Phaedra
Andra

Ruby
Skye
Phoebe
Lark
Tatiana
Anastasia
Eleanor/Elinor/Lenore/Nora(h)
Nova

Most of these boy's names aren't exactly traditional, but they aren't way out there either. They're mostly names off of my list that I thought would sound good with Winter. Hope that's okay!
Felix
Ian
Tierney/Tiernan
Ciaran
Quentin
Kent
Rupert
Clark
Lucian
James
Theodore
Tate
Tristan

I think Winter is a really nice name. I agree with you on Frost though, I would avoid any other nature names for a sibling. It'll be a challenge for me too, because I love a lot of nature names (ex. Lily, Iris, Ivy...).

Based on your preferences and what I think would go well with Winter, here are some of my suggestions:
Caleb
Elijah
Isaac (taking the "ike" from Mike since your daughter has the "anic" from Danica)
Noah
Toby

Ariana
Elisa
Piper
Sydney

I think DIke and Manica have a nice ring to them.

I love you Danica Stewart.

I APPROVE.

Also . . . you could go with Elanor. Or Helena (my middle - Hell-aye-nah). Or . . . AWESOME.

Please don't use Dike. All I hear is an offensive term for lesbian.

Just checking. I've heard stranger things.

What about Jack, as if in Jack Frost (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Frost)? Then you have a secret connection to Winter that is still a traditional name.

lol, I was like 'Hey that would make a good combo name' even before I saw your comment. Then I was like .... crap, wait. There's a reason it sounds good together :p

OP, I lovee the name Winter, kudos to you for actually using it!

Taking the combo thing seriously, what about Mica? Could be pronounced mee-ka or my-ka. Alternate spelling Micah (my-ka), which is in fact a real name, and works on both boys and girls. Though a father named Michael and a son named Micah might be a little too close.

Btw, Winter is fantastic. And, jumping in with the crowd, Frost is great but not with Winter. Although it might still work as a middle (just be aware you're establishing a theme). I actually think it works particularly well for a boy's middle name because of the poet Robert Frost.

Looking through the other suggestions, I second:
Hazel
Tabitha
Juniper
Iris
Verity
Ariana

Beau
Weston
Archer
Fletcher
Toby/Tobias
Tristan
Theodore

I think you should name your child Tracy if it's a girl. That's an awesome name. Dike sounds good too!

Frost does seem too much with Winter, but it could make a nice middle name -- I'm due in December, and we were considering Josiah Frost for a boy (but now we're going with Josiah Birch if we do have a son). Liking the poet is a plus as well.
