Angel is a terrible name. Plus, it strikes me as nearly a virtue name, and people with those names always turn out to be the opposite of what their name implies.
Genevieve is really lovely. Why not Genevieve Angel?
Yeah I dunno nothing else sticks out...we are sticking with A names so any ideas? Genevieve as a middle name bc its after my best friend who passed away 6 yrs ago. We thought about naming her after Gen but not really sure.
Angel, to me, is a pet-name. A term of endearment, something you call your child every so often - not permanently for the rest of her life. Plus it reminds me of Buffy, and Peter Andre/Katie Price's daughter, 'Princess', which I personally think is very unfortunate.
Love Genevieve, and the reason you are using it :)
I think Angel is terrible. Would you want to be a grown woman named Angel? Make it a pet name or a nickname if you want.
I LOVE Genevieve. It's beautiful.
If you like Angel, why not use it as her nickname or even a middle name? As much as it sucks, your legal name is something that can cause difficulty for you if it's not something that can sound professional. I posted about a girl I knew named Precious-Princess. How is that fair on a kid? Angel is on the same vein. It sounds cutesy and it sounds like a nickname someone couldn't let go of.
I don't like Angel. Genevieve is okay. When I was a child, it was rarely used and I loved it, but now I prefer the French pronunciation. (I'm assuming you're using the English.)
Thanks for all your input! Good points and I totally forgot about the Buffy thing too...its like naming your kid Bella from Twlight ( I'm not really a twlight person).
Angel is awful. Tack an 'a' at the end and call her Angela. You can still call her Angel if you want, as a nickname, but she'll have something a little more mature sounding when she grows up. I like Genevieve, and I like why you're using it. I think Genevieve Angel is a nicer name, personally.
