that's so crazy. -aden ending is almost 3 times more popular than the number 1 name...

[identity profile] maude.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
This post makes me want to cry. What will all the poor Kaydens and Braedens do when they're applying for a job?! (Well, they'll probably be interviewed by Jaidyn, so I guess that'll be okay...)

[identity profile] meadowrue.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
How did this crazy trend start? I can't think of any popular '-aden' personalities. Does anyone know?

[identity profile] poespretty.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I know there was the actor Aidan Quinn who has got to be in his 40's or so... I think he was in Legends of the Fall? which incidentally, seemed to spawn the rising popularity of the name Tristan as well... hmmm

[identity profile] hitzpink.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
There was Aidan on Sex and the City.

[identity profile] meadowrue.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
How could I forget him? Yummy!

[identity profile] anapology.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
I know a Cadon born in 2005, & that spelling isnt even there, so there's bound to be more obscure spellings that didnt quite make it to the top 1000... the number is EVEN HIGHER!!

[identity profile] sayga.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
there are probably praydens, fraidens, staydons, chadens, blaydens, zadens, thaydens, and more out there too.

[identity profile] sageharper.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
OMG!
*picks jaw up off the floor*

The number of variations is horrifying enough. Teachers of these kids have my total sympathy.
When will the madness end.

[identity profile] ewaeva.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god. Looking at that... hurt. Ew, ew, ew.

Didn't someone post about "Shayden" here once too? *cringe*

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It was the girl who made the original post disputing the fact that -adens are popular. But she's 11, so I sort of forgive her for the monstrosity that is Shayden =/

[identity profile] ewaeva.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, that's right! I remember her. Actually, I like her - she seems pretty cool for being 11 :)

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... she left the community over this, though. =/

[identity profile] p-inkjeans.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG. I hate all of those names, hahahaha. Well, except for Aidan, but it's become so trendy and popular that I completely hate it.

[identity profile] darabelle.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 12:09 pm (UTC)(link)
that list kind of just makes me laugh.

[identity profile] rockstargrrrlie.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
There's also the variant "Haiden" which is fairly common as well...

[identity profile] hotmaildt.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I totally believe this list-----about 2 years ago, I knew of FIVE Brayden variations being born, and 3 Jadens. In ONE YEAR! And those are just from people I know...who knows how many others there were. I also know 2 Jaylen's (boys).

[identity profile] sayga.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, i know a few too. my friend had a baby in december and was considering Aiden. I tried to talk her out of it, but i failed. the kid is Aiden Wolf. (wolf being the middle name). eek.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That is so disturbing. Especially the girls with those names. Yikes. I don't see how people can possibly still think any -aden name is creative.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
oh and I recently met my first -aden face to face. Two of them actually, at a work party of my bf's there were 3 babies there. One was Jayden and one was Cayden. The 3rd was a girl, with no -aden name. They called Jayden "Jay" a lot which was a better though.

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you stole my fun. =(

Just kidding. I'm glad I inspired you! Thanks so much. Yuck, I didn't realize it was so bad. =/

[identity profile] mrsduryee.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
the first Aidan I ever met was a girl. My grandparents are familiar with the name because it's a very old fashioned male name, and they were so shocked. She's probably 8 or 9 now.

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
When I did the stats for the BC thing, I found Grayden and Raiden, as well. =/

[identity profile] scintillated.livejournal.com 2006-07-20 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yuck, yuck, yuck. I hate every -aden name out there! Haha.

[identity profile] mountain-nest.livejournal.com 2006-07-30 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
*vomit*

My son will perpetually be the only Travis in a classroom full of -adens. :]
