I'm not a fan of either. Sadie sounds like a dog name to me, and Marie is the ultimate filler middle name (hmmm, maybe Lynn? It's close between Lynn and Marie).
I'm just glad Marie isn't a family name, because I would have a hard time using it. I know that's why it continues to be used though, for the most part. And I've always been fond of family names, even if they aren't ~my style.~
Sadie is okay, but... yesterday I was thinking about how this name had become a dog's name (I've never met a human Sadie, but I've meet/read about -several- dogs with the name). Marie is very filler middle to me, but even if it weren't, I still wouldn't like it.

It's an all right name overall, though.

Date: 2010-09-18 12:06 pm (UTC)although I don't think I'd use it because names like Sadie always feel more nickname to me than full name

It is a family name for me which is just horrible. My grandma, aunts, etc (and me!) have Marie for a middle name.
