I've mentioned before that I have a female co-worker named Ashton. Apparently she's 20 years old. A few weeks ago, a new girl started--and I did a double take when I saw that her name is Ashton, too! She can't be much older than 16. Anyway, I just thought it was unusual to encounter more than one person with that name in the same place...I didn't think it was that common. Have any of you ever known more than one Ashton?

Also related to work, one of my customers had her daughter with her and called her Sadie. She was such a cutie! She was so happy and friendly, and kept trying to help hand me groceries from her miniature cart, even though she almost fell over with the weight of the milk gallon! I hadn't really liked the name up to that point, but...now it's kind of growing on me. Do you think it works as a name on its own, or just a nickname for Sarah? Could it be a nickname for any other "full" names?

Finally, I continue to do research on my family tree. One of my ancestors was referred to as Nora...and I found out the other day that it was actually short for Honora. WDYT? I'm hoping to hear a positive opinion, because I fell in love with it and was disheartened when my husband bluntly shot it down.

I've always thought of Ashton as girl name - however, I am biased because before I was adopted, Ashton was my second middle name (I removed it when my step-dad adopted me, because my adopted last name was 4 syllables and it was just a mouthful). I'd like to use it on a girl later on, but I am worried, because that & the other girl name we like (Arielle) both are A's, and my husband and I are both A's, and our soon to be born daughter is an S.

Sadie I have always thought is adorable. I knew a little girl named Sandra (for her aunt) who went by Sadie. A tiny bit of a stretch, but eh.

Honora isn't my style at all, but it isn't a horrible name at all :)

I've never known anyone with the name Ashton personally, but I've known of boys with the name.
Sadie is okay, though I mostly see it on dogs now, lol!
I really don't like Honora.

I've never heard of Sadie as a nickname b/c I only know it from an old song by the Spinners but I think it's cute.

Hubby shot down Honora for me too a while ago. It's a lot lower on my list now but not totally removed.

I think I prefer just Honor, or Honoria.

I've met one female Ashton, and thought that was pretty unique. She was very smart and very nice =).

I love Sadie and Nora, and I think I could get used to Honora!

I have a Nora that's short for Eleanor, so I'm already partial to Nora, but I think it being short for Honora is really cool, too. Not totally sure how it's pronounced, though. Which syllable is accented?

In my mind, Ashton is a boy's name, and Sadie sounds like a hound dog. Honora is pretty.

I know two Ashtons and both are girls in their early 20's.
I love Sadie as its own name, it's one of my top 5 favorite girls' names.
I like Honora but I actually like Nora a lot better.

Love love love Sadie as a name on it's own. For some inexplicable reason, I DON'T like it as a nn. Weird? Weird.

I know a Honora. She's absolutely gorgeous, inside and out, and of course that helps me have a lovely association with the name :)
