Truly?

So I was watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang today and I was thinking about Truly as a name (not for my baby, I just had her 2 months ago). One of the leads in the film is named Truly Scrumptious (corny I know). I never met anyone named Truly, but just wanted to ask your opinion on the name and if you've ever heard it before.

I've heard it once in real life when I volunteered in a preschool. I think it's cute, but it doesn't seem like it would age well.

Completely nothing to do with "Truly" (which is not my style, though I don't mind True)...
I was unaware at the time I had my daughter, that I was able to apply for her birth certificate WITHOUT douchebag's signature on it. He walked out on us shortly after she was born.
Anyway.

How unfortunate for my daughter...she got stuck with the surname Chitty. "Yes, yes...like 'chitty chitty bang bang'". *sigh*

I think of Trudy. Truly doesn't seem like a name to me, it seems like a word. Yes I know words are names and vice versa, but this one doesn't seem as namey as other words to me.

I really don't think it was meant as a 'real' name... the character in the movie/musical is the sweet daughter of Mr Scrumptious, who owns a confectionery factory. So she's called Truly Scrumptious, a made-up name on the lines of Snow White, so to speak :-)
