BEAGAN?

Does anyone have any idea how one would pronounce the name BEAGAN? It is Scottish and means "small." Does it sound like "begin?" Or more like Raegan, with a b? Like Bay-gin (with a hard g). Or something entirely different?

I am possibly adopting a second small dog, and looked up names that mean "small." My current dog is MADDEN, which is Irish and means "little dog."

I am also open to any other name suggestions. Something that means something either to do with a dog, or being small, or anything else, really. I prefer unisex names. My Madden is a little girl, which confuses people, who seem to expect her to be a boy with that name, or think that I must be pronouncing her name wrong, and the call her Madeline. Ugh. :-/ But, I'm cool with correcting people, on both her gender and name (I wouldn't do this to an actual baby. I have sort of a guilty pleasure thing for unisex names, and wanna use them on my critters instead of kids)

I'd say it like vegan but with a b. I know some people say begin differently, not sure how you say it. :)

here we'd speak it like Beegan. Similar to the comment above, like vegan, long ee. cause its also a popular turkish name, written the same way, but maybe pronounced different from the scottish, i guess.

I'd probably say it like bay-gan (vegan with a b).
This pronunciation makes me think of bacon, though, haha.

Ugh, fifty-million comments from me; sorry, I'm rushing about. O_o
Forget the Vegan thing. I'd say bay-gan.

And for some suggestions:

Conan - means Little Wolf/Hound/Dog (http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Conan.html)

Choko - means Small Child (http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Choko.html)

Lovett - means young wolf (http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Lovett.html)

Phelan/Faolan - means little wolf/dog (http://babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com/meaning_of_Phelan.html)

I like Phelan (I pronounce it Fay-Lan) and Lovett best.
