Hi, I've been reading and commenting in this community for awhile but I don't think I've ever posted before. Anyway, I am fascinated by names (I'm not pregnant), and thought I would share some of my favorites. Feel free to share your opinions.

Britt seems too much like a NN for Brittany, so I don't like it.
Shea, to me, seems more feminine.
Maxim is a playboy-esque magazine, so that'd be a big no-no to me. It may not be published where you live, though.

I prefer Sasha over Sascha, but Sascha is the german form so it is legitimate as well. I prefer it on a girl.

i like alice (my great grandmothers name) and anna. and actually, finn (for a girl) is on my short list.

i do not, however, like britt for a boy. thats my ten year old neices name.

i like casey (ive always had a weakness for that name), charlie, and gabriel.

I know a guy named Britt, never occured to me he had a girl NN.

I love Colin and Ian and Gabriel. I really like Irish names. Would you ever use Gabe as a NN?

I don't mind Gabe at all, so yeah I would probably use it for a nickname. I also like when it is pronounced in a French manner, which sounds more like the female Gabrielle.

Alice is one of my best friends names, but I'm not sure that that is why I like it so much. It's simple but classic, and suits all ages I think. It conjures up a lovely picture of a girl for me :)

considering mckee was my favorite since about 4th grade, i'm pretty bummed. and i'm mad at him for leaving for money, but whatever. i'm still madly in love with the rest of the team from last year and i know they can pull it off again without him. i'm definitely one of the crazy rabid buffalo fans, lol. and good to know some of our neighbors to the WEST have good taste as well :o)

Where I live, hockey is basically a way of life, so I was living it up when my Sabres were on fire. I put my jersey on the flag pole and everyone that walked by pointed and smiled, it was sweet. Don't you just love Ryan Miller!

In my opinion, Sascha is terrible, for either gender. Finley, too. Maxim reminds me of the magazine.

I love Tristan and Ian for boys. Alice and Paige for girls.

I hadn't really thought of the association of Maxim to the magazine, thats interesting though that many people pointed it out. Maybe it's because I'm used to hearing it in French? hm.

Sascha/Sasha for a boy is VERY cute. It seems like it's more common in Russia as a boy's name than a girl's name (it is a diminutive of Aleksandr/Alexander.)

Interesting... your girls' names list contains one of my absolute favourites (Anna) as well as one of my most disliked names (Paige). I don't know why I dislike Paige so much though, most people seem to like it around here. I love Anna though...

Alice is really nice too, not a fan of Finley. Sascha is alright... how is Shea pronounced?

Of your boys' names...
Nathan is probably my favourite. Rhett would be good but it reminds me too much of Rett syndrome. I have recently started to like Ian, which is suprising because I don't normally like the sound of names like that. The others are good but I'm fairly neutral towards them.

I love it too. I love how it can suit a toddler, a teenager, an adult, an older person. Alice is a family name for my husband and me, and it's a prospective name (one of four) for our baby due in December. If it's a girl anyway... :)
