Cordelia.....

I havent heard it in a long time, and I am pregnant with #2 (hoping its a girl!). Middle name ideas? I like old fashioned, place names, and unusual names.

Would be joining brother Israel Jameson.

Yes, it's Mee-lou indeed! It's a French name, but quite common here (in Netherlands). I've always been quite fond of it. Too bad your husband doesn't like it/them! Good luck with that ;).

I LOVE Cordelia and had it on my latest list. My husband was not as enamored with it. I also like Delia as a nickname. If you ever watched Everwood, the little sister on it was named Cordelia, who went by Delia.

I don't care for it. Though I'm not sure if it's because it's so ingrained as one specific person (Cordelia from Buffy) to me, or if because I legitimately don't like the name. I don't think it's my style.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: movie from 1992, TV show that ran from 1997-2003. Graphic novel that follows the show. Probably another movie coming out sometime in the next few years.

threre was an LJ mom some time ago who had two daughters named cordelia and emmeline. I like it, it's a bit fancy for me, if that makes any sense.

Oooh, I love love love Cordelia!! My Top Ten list includes Cordelia Diana. That's old-fashioned, maybe you'll like it. Other possibilities include Cordelia Margaret, Cordelia Theodora, Cordelia May, Cordelia Juniper, Cordelia Rosemary.

Cordelia Diana is so Anne of Green Gables!

I only know the name Cordelia from there, and I remember as a child reading those books and wondering why she liked the name because it just reminded me of the word "cordial" (ie the drink haha)

But I now think it is that nice kind of obsolete name that people could easily get used to hearing again.

I like it, but Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel... it's not uncommon.

My biggest reason for liking it is that it reminds me of my old neighbor, a vary close family friend. I guess I had trouble calling her Mrs. Cordiano because 2 y/o me dubbed her Cordy. :)

I adore Cordelia. It's been in my top 5-10 for years now. I'd use Delia as a NN.
