My mom and I were talking and she mentioned her disdain for the named of a sibset I grew up with, and I wondered if other people feel the same way:

Opal
Coral
Ivy

So, WDYT?

Ivy used to be my top favorite girls name. Coral is okay but i agree that Opal and Coral at least together is kind of cheesey

The sibset expect Ivy reminds of a romance-novel-series i once read, but there the women had "themed-names".

Don't like opal all that much, but coral and ivy are lovely. I think this sibset is fine.

Individually, I like the names. Together, it does sound like too much.

It is themey but it's not the worst set I've seen. The names go fairly well together. Coral is the only one I really can't tolerate. Opal and Ivy are okay enough.

I like Ivy and Coral is ok, but I really don't like Opal. At all.

I think the sibset is matchy, but not horrible, though.

I think it's nice. Opal was my great grandmother's name. Opal and Coral together is strange, but it could be much worse.

opal is an old lady's name to me and ivy seems not to match her sisters. i like coral a lot but its nms. i've seen worse.

I love Ivy, and I don't mind Coral, but I really dislike Opal.

I like Coral. Ivy is one of those names I liked when I was 10, but don't care for anymore. Opal was my grandmother's name and I like it, but rather than using it I've thought of using another gem name (her sisters were gems too). Now that I think about it, though, maybe I do like it.

I hate the first two names and dislike the last, so... It's a bit much overall.

[livejournal.com profile] fatinah_aila mentioned romance novels and now that's all I can think regarding the set, lol. ^^;

i like the names but not all three of them together. they make good pairs, but i don't like the trio.

Opal and Coral are pretty dated, but in their time, they weren't awful. I really like Ivy. But as a sibet it's weird, starting a gem theme and then dropping it. That's even worse than having a theme to begin with.

Coral is fine, Opal is too "old lady-ish," and Ivy seems somehow contrived.

Opal is the only one I like. :)
