What's your opinion of Brody for a girl?

My husband and I both picked this name, neither of us knowing that the other one liked it. I know it's typically a boy's name, but I've heard of a few females named Brody--particularly the singer Brody Dalle. We like pairing it up with my middle name: Brody Marlene.

We both like Scott for a boy. We're thinking Scott Logan. (Logan is my hubby's middle name.)

WDYT? Our last name is Cawood, pronounced Caywood. We just found out we're expecting on Friday! ;)

I've a friend (female) named Brodie. I like it for either, but I prefer the spelling Brody for both.

I don't particularly like Brody at all, but I would prefer it for a boy. I like Scott Logan. Although I couldn't ever use either Scott or Logan because of personal associations, they're nice names and sound good together.

I don't like it for a female. I'm not too fond of it for a male either, though. When I hear it, all I think of is "Bro."

I dislike Brody on a girl. It's okay for a boy, but it just sounds like a stereotypical frat boy.

Scott Logan is okay. I'm not a fan of either name, but it's not something I would shake my head at.

I usually like traditionally male names on females, but I don't really like Brody as a name over all. Maybe because it rhymes with grody and I'm a child of the 1980s lol.

Also: Brody Jenner.

It's hard because I have a male friend name Brody, and it totally fits him and he is SO uber manly. I just can't even consider it on a girl because of him. Plus, if you are going to gender bend on names, it is worth noting that now Logan is a fairly common girl's name, way more common on girls than Brody.

What about switching them? Like Logan Marlene or Scott Brody?

I always think Brody/Grody unfortunately.

Congrats! \o/

I don't like Brody in general (makes me think of grody), but think it's much worse on a girl.
I don't particularly like Scott or Logan, but it's nice overall.

Scott Logan is nice, if extremely 80s. Brody on a girl? DNL; I barely like that on a boy. I also think there's room for some serious teasing there.

Congrats!

I don't think Brody is a bad choice for a girl's name, there are much worse choices. I prefer Bodhi [prncd Bodie] though...And Scott Logan is okay, I really like the nn Scotty and Logan always reminds me of Wolverine from X-Men [::is a dork::] and that's a good association.

Scott Logan, Cyclops and Wolverine for me. I don't care for either name anyway, but X-Men associations abound.

Scott Logan is very nice. As for Brody, I really don't like it, either for a boy or a girl.

Brody reminds me of grody, and Brody Marlene sounds terribly hillybilly to my ears, even though I don't mind Marlene.

Scott is just so plain and boring to me, and Logan is too trendy for me.

Honestly, I don't like Brody for a boy, let alone a girl.
