"Z" Names

In light of the newest addition to our family, my neice Zoey Rae, my wife and I were talking about other "Z" names we like for either gender. We didn't come up with much.

For girls: Zanna, Zelda, Zion
For boys: Zion, Zachariah, Zane

WDYT of these? They are all names we'd actually consider using. Any other suggestions we perhaps hadn't thought of??

I personally like Zorah and Zaria.

I've also heard of Zana and Zinzi for girls. I'm really not a fan of Z names on boys, so I can't help you with that, sorry! =)

Other Z names I like:

Zinnia

What about a name with Z in it?

Like:

Hazel

Ezekiel (nn Zeke)
Alekzander (Zander)

Well it would definitely work with the Z theme because Zeke is a great nickname. I like the name - it's unique.

Zipporah, Zita

Zion doesn't sound like a feminine name to me. I love Zelda. It's my cat's name, and I kind of wish I hadn't wasted such a good name on a pet.

Seconding Zinzi
Zuleikha

I also see Zion as a boy's name, probably something to do with Lauryn Hill's son.

The only Z-names I really like and would use are Zoe and Zachary.

However, Zebulon is a bit of a guilty pleasure/pet-only name for me.

I just saw a little girl today at a picnic for the adoption agency we're working with whose name was Zada. I really liked it.

I like Zahra, Zoe, Ziva (blame NCIS for that), and Zofia for girls. For boys, I like Zach (but not Zachary, which is a problem).

I kind of like Zachariah, Zane, and Zelda (the latter, just for the video game connection, haha).
To me, Zion is male.

My niece went to school with a little boy named Zenan, which I thought was cute and I love the nn Zen.

Messy around with my family tree I came up with Zadac (white guy born in Arkansas, cant explain it), Zebulon (Zeb), Zedidiah (Zed), and Xenobia (not a z, but a z sound)

I also have Zaidia and Zada written down for some reason. No idea where I got them.

I've never heard if Zenan before, but I like it, and the nn Zen.

I have second cousins named Zinca and Zachary. Zinca was named for a great-grand-aunt or something on the father's side.

Oh, I thought of one more. I'm a fan of the book Ethan Frome and his wife's name is Zenobia, with the nickname of Zeena. I always liked that. Although that was before Xena existed so perhaps the pronunciation isn't working for me on that nickname as much anymore. Hmm.

I don't think anyone mentioned this one, but I grew up with a girl named Zeta.

I like Zoey, and someone I used to work with named her daughter Zara, which I think is nice.

My great-aunt was named Zettie, which I love. I don't know if I'd love it as much if not for the family relation, but I think it's lovely. The only other Zettie I've ever known is my aunt, who was named after my great-aunt, but I'd like to use it as a daughter's first or middle name someday.
