Some of those names aren't even on the social security list of top 1000 names for 2009, so I wonder how they were determined to be fastest rising. A few of them I recognize from pop culture, so maybe they considered googles names.
I seriously doubt there's a bunch of people out there naming their baby girls Sookie.

That was kind of my thought as well. In reading the article, it says these are top searched names on a name site, so definitely not necessarily something tons of people are naming their kids.

On the boy's list, I'd be okay with Dorian or Dawson.

But honestly, not a single one of these shows up on my top 10 (or even 20, probably). I would consider them if my partner was gung-ho about any one of them, but they're not ones I'd choose without outside pressure.

There are some from TV shows... I like the show LuX but I wouldnt name my kid after it. I also dont like... Martina, Sookie, Everleigh etc. The list of girls names I like is way shorter :D

I'll believe it when I see the SSA list. Just because people do searches for names, it doesn't mean they're actually considering using them. Maybe lots of people are rediscovering Jane Eyre and were curious about St. John. Bentley is probably because of that Teen Mom show... I definitely don't think we'll be seeing these names anywhere near the top, they'll probably be in the 800s or 900s.

I like Mikah (spelled Micah, if that's what this name is supposed to be).
I'd also consider Charlotte and Dorian, though Eloise, Sterling, and Lennon are okay. And maybe Leland, too.

Navi...is from the movie Avatar, right? I still haven't seen it, so my first thought was of the Legend of Zelda fairy. ^^

Yikes. Those are some interesting names.

But, just because people have searched for them on the site doesn't mean those are the chosen names. It'll be interesting to see the social security list and see where these names really place.

(I honestly can't imagine quite a few of them placing very high, such as St. John.)

I like a few of the girl names, but the boys are terrible IMO.

I'm assuming Tenley was searched a lot because of the girl on the last season of The Bachelor.

I can possibly see some of these rising, like Charlotte, Leighton (Gossip Girl), and maybe Everly/Ever because of Milla Jovovich. Harper too. Briella already SOUNDS popular/trendy.

As for the boys, I can see Bently, Kaiden (uh just a form of Caden that is already super freakin' trendy/popular), and Lennon on the rise. I'm not sure about the rest of them... maybe Dashiell and Micah.

I really like Sterling.
