Dan is a very popular name in my life, which is why I like it, but will never use it. Here are the middle names that I know of. What do you think?

Daniel David
Daniel Steven (guessing on spelling)
Daniel Joseph

I think I like David best, which is a little funny, because the other two are relatives, so I'm not sure if any of that is influencing my picks.

I know brothers named Daniel and David, so that combination is weird to me.

I have cousin named Daniel Patrick (I think, not completely sure on the middle name) and his sister married a guy also named Daniel (who now gets called Danners by the family).

Aww, that's a cute nickname :). In my family everyone is called Dan (except one cousin, who's called Daniel, but we rarely see him), so it's like "Who are you talking to?" Except my aunt (she's married to one Dan and has another as a son), who calls the two Danny Joe and Danny Steve. I was talking with my friend, and he used to go by D.D. when he was younger.

Okay, that's probably way too much info :).

I can imagine that would get a little confusing.

I knew more Daniels. My husband has a stepbrother named Danny (I assume his full name is Daniel but with that family I'm not sure) and he has a son named Danny/Daniel. We really don't see them much.

I had this friend named Dan, but I no longer like him. And then I got a new friend name Dan. So now when I read any of my old entries and I'm saying something about "Dan", I have to sit and think for a while.

Some how the friends are what makes it harder because it's like, "So Dan. . ." and it's like "Which one?"

I like Daniel David. I'm not normally a fan of alliterative middle names, but in this case I think it flows.

I agree. And his nickname as a kid was D.D. which I find cute, but maybe that's because I know someone with the last name of Deady, so it's a "legit" sounding name to me and not just two letters. (Not that all the two letter nicknames out there aren't "legit" sounding.)
