middle name for Wren

We're not ttc yet, but my husband and I have decided on the name Wren for when we have a daughter. I love the combo Wren Delphine, but husband vetoes this because "it sounds too much like Mike Delfino from Desperate Housewives." Silly reason in my opinion, but he won't be budged! Any suggestions for a middle name for Wren? Thanks!

How odd - Delphine is Greek for 'possessing a womb' (I'm not super excited about the meaning, but the name is pretty). Strange that a boy would be called it.

Also, another point against Delphine-- I hate names that run too much together. Wren Delphine sounds like Wrendelphine or Wrendel Phine.

It is a bit run-togethery, you're right. Middle names aren't used much in my family - everyone has one, but no one is referred to by first-middle - so I don't think it's too much of an issue :)

Delphine makes me think of "dolphin" - and when paired when paired with a first name that's also an animal, it doesn't really work in my opinion. I'd go with something feminine-sounding. :)

My name is Lauren and when I was little my family would call me Ren. Most of my cousins still call me that because I am the oldest are they are still so young they really can not say my name right.

So I like Wren/Ren but I feel like it should be a nickname because I know I grew out of that nickname pretty early on. I mean maybe it is just because it reminds me of a cutesy childhood nickname I gave myself and little kids use instead of Lauren - but it is something to consider.
