Decisions, decisions!
Hello all! I'm 14w today, and we're going to wait and see if it's a girl of a boy on the day he or she comes out into the world.
BUT, that doesn't mean I'm not obsessing over names! My husband is a little leery of alliteration, and my parents keep saying complicated names are too hard for kids to spell, but here's what I'm thinking - let me know what you think!
PS: Our last name is Acquaviva...he's 1/2 Irish and 1/2 Italian, hence the Iris first names and the Italian last name! I myself am Scottish :)
For a girl:
Amelia
Caitlin
Charlotte
Claire
Clara
Elizabeth
Emma
Isabelle
Madeline
Megan
Molly
For a boy:
Colin
Nathaniel
Aiden
Ethan
Kyle
Liam
So, any that you think sound awful? Any that sound awesome? Anything I didn't list that YOU would pair with that last name?
(PS : the last name is pronounced like Aquafina - some people try to say ACK-waviva which is just eeew!)

I don't like the spelling of Caitlin though
I think Emma had become a little too popular. Maybe use it for a middle name.
For a boy:
I like Colin, Nathaniel & Kyle.
Aiden and Liam seem to be too popular.
Nathaniel made me think of Hawthorne...which i like for a first name.

The only exceptions:
I'd use Molly as a nickname for Mary or Margaret rather than a stand-alone. It's adorable, though.
Aiden is too overdone, and anyway, if I were to use it I would spell it Aidan.
Though Kyle is cute, I don't think it ages very well, and doesn't really flow with your last name.
Favorites are Charlotte Acquaviva and Nathaniel Acquaviva. Amelia, Clara, Colin and Ethan are also lovely choices. I would definitely pick Clara over Claire-- much more elegant.
If you're looking for an alternative to Aiden/Aidan that's a little less common, how about Adrian?

I like Clara, Elizabeth, Molly and Caitlin.
Amelia, Liam and Aidan are nice but nms.
I don't really care for Emma but that's just me, it's still a fine name!
And wow, the last name is crazy! Though I was able to pronounce it fine, even before the tip. I think people just get intimidated by more letters than Smith or Jones and don't even bother trying. I have a crazy ethnic last name too (it's POLISH!) so people are always mispronouncing it.

Here are my thoughts individually
For a girl:
Amelia - cute but it doesn't do it for me with your last name.
Caitlin - Not my favorite for me but it sounds well with your last name.
Charlotte - ick, never liked it much and too popular right now.
Claire - Love and sounds good with the last name.
Clara - doesn't work with the last name for me.
Elizabeth - Elizabeth is gorgeous but paired with such a long last name it does seem like a mouth full (but this is from the girl with 4 names that never had any trouble with it... that's two given names and two last names)
Emma- Gorgeous with the last name.
Isabelle - same as Elizabeth.
Madeline - same as Elizabeth.
Megan - Not a name I like tbh.
Molly - Love it but it's actually hard to find a middle name for Molly o.o
For a boy:
Colin - cute, sounds nice with the last name.
Nathaniel - hmm I like it, might be a bit long but that's up to you.
Aiden - I like it spelled like the Irish spell it, Aidan. Okay, more than like it, I love it.
Ethan - my current first pick for a boy =) sounds lovely with your last name.
Kyle - same as Colin.
Liam - Same as Colin.

But I have to ask, if I'm not familiar with the language the last name is from, how the heck am I supposed to know it's pronounced "-fina" when there are two v's and not an f or n in sight?
