(no subject)

There is a country female band called SHeDAISY and one of its members, Kelsi Osborn, and her husband Steve Hooper welcomed twin girls today: Savannah Marie and Adyson Amilia.

What do you guys think?

[identity profile] thorabrighid.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
why not Addison Amelia? but I like the name. I don't really care for Savannah Marie.

[identity profile] p-inkjeans.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh, haha. I hate both names, truthfully. Addison wouldn't be bad if they spelled it the right way. Lately I've been in a very hateful mood towards people who change names like Emily to Emmalee and think it makes it a different name. STFU people, it doesn't. It just makes your kid's life more difficult. And I HATE the name Savannah. I don't even know why. It's like my hatred of Dylan, Dakota, and Scott. It's irrational but strong.

Sorry. I don't know why I'm so bitter, haha.

(and I love that your name gave me a good example. Tell your parents they rock for spelling Emily right.)

i hate savannah, dylan, dakota, and scott too. Like, a lot.

I'd probably like Dylan if it wasn't so popular. because of bob dylan.

[identity profile] rhondaaerosmith.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
When I hear Dylan I think of 90210!!

[identity profile] miss-tee.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
ha ha my brother's name is Dylan.
It wasn't popular 21 years ago, I swear!

[identity profile] p-inkjeans.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, 21 years ago it was a "cool" name. Now it just sounds stupid, haha.

[identity profile] miss-tee.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll guess Dyl will just have to wait it out until it's a cool name to have again.

[identity profile] dancing-crazy.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
I HATE the name Dylan so much. So, so very much, and I know not why. It just bothers me.

[identity profile] p-inkjeans.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY! Dylan-haters UNYTE!!!!1!

[identity profile] tigress-oils.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
ugh, a family friend is due in august and has already chosen Emma Leigh (to be called by both names, like Emily). come ON, girl, i liked that name when i was ELEVEN because i thought it was just so clever, but geez. and when we were eleven, she had much better taste. her future daughter was going to be Ivy Christine.

[identity profile] -door-.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Those are fine... I dont really like the y in Adyson though.

[identity profile] sayga.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
me too. but unlike the Savannah haters out there, I *do* like the name (I wouldn't use it, but I like it).

[identity profile] hygher.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
I actually like both the names.

[identity profile] opalfirefly.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
I agree...
People like creative spellings then i guess so be it...

[identity profile] sarahrose.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I love the spelling of the second name! Great choices, and I love SHeDAISY.

[identity profile] ferretiger.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
is their last name hooper, then? savannah hooper just doesn't flow, to me.

[identity profile] maude.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
Savannah got so lucky.

[identity profile] dancing-crazy.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
I don't like the name Savannah Marie, but at least it's spelled properly. It really bothers me when people take names and just change the spelling. It doesn't make it any less popular, it just makes it silly and messes up whatever tradition the name might have had. Amelia is one of my favourite names ever so I think it sucks that they spelled it this way! If it were Addison Amelia it could have been nice, though I still don't like any names for girls that have the word "son" in them.

[identity profile] ghost-dance.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
looks like she can't spell

[identity profile] miss-tee.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
those are two very country sounding names.
I'm not surprised.

[identity profile] sayga.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
i haev a friend who named her son "Billy Jack." now THAT is a country-sounding name to me!

[identity profile] miss-tee.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
you win

[identity profile] tigress-oils.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
my name is Laura Lynn, Country Music Superstar.

[identity profile] miss-tee.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
lol
Laura Lynn is a pretty name though.

[identity profile] super-bitch06.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Guh. I so dislike Addison on a girl, regardless of spelling... The name just screams MALE to me. That aside, I don't mind the spelling of it. It makes it look a little more feminine, she probably wont be mistake for a man as much... but still.. yuck. Plus, her initials are Aah!... open wide!... ::looks around::....

Anyways, Savannah is high on my list of things not to name my child. Way too common. I don't hate it as much on someone else's child though. And Savannah Marie flows well.

[identity profile] super-bitch06.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
**mistaken. Guh. Spelling mistakes!

[identity profile] lostrocket.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Everyone who hates the name Savannah needs to watch Savannah Smiles! I love the name Savannah.

I wish that they had mix n' matched the normal/trendy though, if they wanted trendy. Savannah Amilia and Adyson Marie? Of course, I would prefer to nix the Adyson, and go with Addison, or just nix that one completely and go with Amelia something. I don't like Amelia, but I like Adyson/Addison even less.

Doesn't aaaanyone like Savannah?

[identity profile] pale-september.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Savannah is cute, but I don't like it paried with Marie. I HATE the way she spelled Addison and Amelia.

[identity profile] x-lostinyou.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh come on, it's Addison Amelia. If you're going to name your child something so trendy, at least spell it right so you don't look like a COMPLETE tool.

[identity profile] sotypical42483.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Kelsi on a grown woman? Bleccch.

Savannah Marie is very pretty. Adyson Amilia? Umm... I suppose it'd help if they spelled properly... and chose a name other than Addison...

[identity profile] arbus.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
i would never use the name savannah, but i do like it a lot.

as for the other one? yick. i guess thats what happens when you grow up as sisters kelsi, kristyn and kassidy. ugh.

[identity profile] arbus.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
gross.

every time i hear their names, i think they should be a singing group of five year olds. so so so wrong.

[identity profile] arbus.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
oh god. those poor kids. karli fits right in with those other girls names, god what the hell is wrong with parents? clayton is okay though, he is the only one that got away with a halfway normal name.

[identity profile] arbus.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
these women are living proof of why you shouldnt name your child miyhkaayhlee or something equally ridiculous. babies grow up! dont do it!

[identity profile] tigress-oils.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
boring, boring, bland, and predictably trendy, just like SHeDAISY.

(wow, PMS + hatred for manufactured pop sounds taking over my precious country music = a catty laura lynn.)

[identity profile] jenniferdunn.livejournal.com 2006-07-13 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm wondering why 'Savannah Marie' got to have a properly spelled name and her poor sister got the shaft. =/
