Rename Yourself!
Suppose that for some reason (witness protection program, you want to start over, you hate your birth name, whatever) you had to change your entire name to something completely new. We name babies in here all the time-- what would you do if you had a chance to name yourself?
My real first name is Marcella. I think I would call myself Eleanor, if I had to change my name. It's been one of my favorite names since I was tiny. I used to name all my best dolls Eleanor.
My real middle name is my grandmother's maiden name. If I had to change my name I'd probably pick another family name so I could keep some ties to my family. I have a favorite great-aunt named Amelia, which I think goes well with Eleanor.
My new last name would be Irish, just like my current last name, but other than that I'm not sure what I'd choose. I'd probably ransack the upper branches of the family tree for good last names. Sullivan? Murphy? Brady? Recognizably Irish, but also easy to say and spell-- that's what I'd look for.

I'd keep the same initials, actually, by accident. I'd rename myself Stacie Lorraine. Not sure about the last name.

I'd probably go to Mary (called Molly) Bracken. If I could one-up my parents and add a middle, it'd be Mary (still called Molly) Titania Bracken, because, well, why not? Mary T. Bracken looks perfectly respectable.

Luna Helena and for my last name... hmm probably something along the lines of Hayes... yes, I like Hayes so Luna Hayes.

It's one of the very few L names I like.

I would probably change my name to something spunky and cute since that matches my personality better. I would probably use Fae as a middle name or something else that meant Faith since it is a family name. These are my first choices for myself:
Sidney
Cecily
Piper or Pippa
Darby
Sadie
Evie (not sure how to spell it, but it's pronounced EE-VEE)
Charlie (yes, for a girl.. it's a family name >.>)
I just realized how much I like names that end with an 'ee' sound.. hmmmm

I always thought Id better be a Catherine, Cath, Kate, Katherine or something similar. Not because one of those is the worlds most amazing names, just cause it really, really matches me.
Funny you post this, I thought about this the other day haha. :)

If I had to choose a new name, I think I would go with a name that has nicknames I like, perhaps Lillian, nn Lily. I hate all the nicknames for Melissa (Missy, Mel, etc.) It's also not a name I would consider using for a daughter if I had one so that's nice.
I think Lillian Sophia, and for the last name Fiore (Italian for flower).

My last name is kind of weird and I'm not sure I really like it, but I won't ever be changing it because it's my father's.
Not sure about the middle name. I don't like my middle name now, but I don't think about it 99.9% of the time so it's not a big deal.

I'd probably change it to Veronica (for some reason, I always give this as my fake name) Fawn (because I like deer) Kurple (for my deceased fiance's last name.)

Rhoswen Isela de Beaumont
If I were ever to rename myself for something like witness protection I would give in to all my guilty pleasures.

Elizabeth Gloria Schwartz. I'd want a last name that was German and Jewish. I think Elizabeth is very versatile and the nicknames can make it stand apart. I'd also want to be named after someone, so that's where the middle name comes from.

i've never liked that it was so "girly"... i would rename myself Frances Reese and introduce myself to everyone as Frankie :)
i've already told my boyfriend that when we get married i'm not changing my last name, but if i had to have a new last name i'd probably change it to his.

Martha Ruth Coffin
My grandmother has a tendency to call everyone 'Martha'. Also, Martha is a well-established name, strong, and feminine but not frilly, like me. :P
Ruth is the middle name of my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Coffin is a family name.

Eliza Claire
Usually, I'm all for using the long form of a name officially and a nickname if you want, but for some reason, I feel I'm just an Eliza.
If I had to change my last name, I would be Eliza Claire Trenkamp. It's my paternal grandmother's maiden name.

So. Calandra ... hmm.. Hope? I've always loved Hope and Faith for middle names, but I like how Calandra Hope sounds. And the last ... I have no idea.

I've always been a big Alice in Wonderland fan (see icon) and as a little child even introduced myself as Alice, so I think my new first name would be Alice. It bears a very subtle resemblance to my real name and I already feel like it "belongs" to me. For my middle name... Cordelia. She's a character in one of my favorite book series, very strong and wise, I look up to her a lot.
My new last name would be Weaver. It's a name that I've just always really loved, and since I'm a writer (weaver of stories) it feels appropriate. So from Laura "Elizabeth" Belyeu I become Alice Cordelia Weaver!

I would probably rename myself as Kellan Alenka Eckland. (Kellan just because, Alenka because I am Polish - as well as German, and Eckland ... well I just really liked Cary Grant in Father Goose.)

I think right now I'd go with Katharina Liesel Karoline Schweinstieger. Katharina because it could lead to the nickname Katja, which I love. Liesel is another name I love. Karoline because my Oma (Karin) always wanted to be named this. And Schweinstieger is just an awesome surname.

Though, in a perfect world, I'd have a really awesome last name. Maybe Awesome.

I would change my name to Violet Josephine Payne. I would love to change my current middle name though and just keep Alyssa. The middle name you ask? Boob. I am so very serious. Boob is my nickname, it just seems appropriate. I wouldn't actually do it though. And if I weren't already considered a freakishly obsessed fan, I would consider Temperance like in Bones.

I'd probably go with Juliet or another Shakespeare name for my first name, and then either Louisa or Marilyn for my middle name. I'll think on it some more.
I have to say I've been really spoiled, because even though I don't really like my first name, my whole name together flows beautifully and I'm a freak about flow, so stuff like this is hard for me :P

I'd rename myself Eleanor Sue Parson.
Eleanor is one of my favorite names. Sue is after my mom. And Parson is a combination of my maiden name and my married name.
