any suggestions of names that could use "poppy" as a nickname? thanks to my botany class, the only think i can think right now is "papavaraceae", the latin name of the poppy family. help please? thanks!

Well if Pippa can be a nickname for Philippa, I guess Poppy could. In general, I think of Poppy as a stand alone name.

I Googled it, haha. Someone said they know of a Penelope nicknamed Poppy, but the overwhelming majority consider it a stand-alone name (I agree).
