WDYT of Sadie?

I used to think it was too precious, but it's grown massively on me lately.

it makes me think of an adorably creepy little girl, so I like it.

I know of a dog and a guinea pig named Sadie so that's all that comes to mind, an animal's name.

This. My mom's elderly and lovably dumb Old English Sheepdog is named Sadie.

LOL, that's the dog I was talking about!

I read your post and thought, hey, our guinea pig is named Sadie, too! Then I saw this post, hahaha.

lmao. I named the dog Sadie (when I was 13) because I absolutely loved it. Now it's forever linked to that stinky dog. :oP

It's a nickname to me, and also a dog name (I have known a ton of dogs named Sadie for some reason!). That being said, I know an adorable little girl named Sadie (given name, not nickname) and I love it on her.

I love that name. However, it also reminds me of "Sexy Sadie" by The Beatles. :)

My cat was named Sadie after the Beatles song!

That was my grandmother's nickname - her name was Sarah, but everyone called her Sadie :) so I have good associations with the name.

My ex-husband's cousin is Sedona, nn Sadie.

I like it. It's a form of my name (Sarah) which is why I was considering it for my daughter. I ultimately decided against it mostly because it sounds too nicknamey. And I've known more than one dog named Sadie.

I know a woman named Mercedes who goes by Sadie, and I kind of like that (I dislike Mercedes in general, but I like Sadie as a nick name for it).

I love this name. I would've named my daughter Sadie in a heartbeat had my husband been for it.

He couldn't get past the fact that when you break up the name is "Sad" and "die"

Despite that, I still love this name and I definitely think you should use it.

I used to like it, but not so much anymore because I see it on A LOT of dogs, lol. ^^;

Also, it sounds kind of nickname-y.

My grandfather always said "Sadie the Painted Lady." Not sure what that means, but it is the only thing I can think of when I hear the name. :) haha

I think it has the potential to fall prey to the "Katie" dilemma. It's easy to imagine a 4-year-old Sadie; harder, a 55-year-old cardiologist, you know? I like Sara or Sarah nn Sadie much better.

Sadie's a really old name, though. I have an easier time picture an elderly woman as a Sadie than a baby.

I like the name Sadie. I know alot of women (who are older) whose name is Sadie. I used to work at a nursing home and my favorite women were Sadie and Ruth Ann.
