about Pearl - Marti Pearl goes by this full combination. She is the four yr old daughter of a crunchy hippie single mom and somehow Marti Pearl just fits her, but otherwise I agree - Pearl by itself seems like a name for a little dog or an 80 year old woman.

Jackson Douglas reminds me of the Civil War for some reason. I guess because of "Stonewall" Jackson and Frederick Douglass???

Brinkley Mcclain sounds like a law firm or political running-mates.

what's odd is how MANY times I've seen jackson and douglas paired together on birth announcements and stuff. douglas is apparently a popular MN for jackson. this kid was named after a good friend, jack, that was killed in a shooting, and douglas after his father and grandfathers, both dougs. so it's a nice tribute, but otherwise i totally agree with you.

brinkley is my cousin, and the name's always rubbed me the wrong way. it reminds me of this old disney movie brink! about rollerbladers in the 90s lol... mcclain is my mother's maiden name and therefore, my cousin's mother's maiden name. we cherish the mcclain name being so definitively irish, but together, this name is TOO MUCH.

I don't like that spelling of Zoe, but Zoey Rae has such a nice sound to it!

I like Elijah, and Matisse actually works really well as a middle name...especially if you like the painter.

I love the name Erin...but Ebin&Erin? I think not!

about erin and ebin - I know!! allow me to vent because it drives me crazy - the mother is one of my best friends, so a couple years ago when she had a son and named him ebin [after that Sublime song about a nazi?!], I cringed but it grew on me and now that he's a real person, I can handle it. But she was asking me for name suggestions recently for her daughter on the way, I sent her probably 50 names and she then sends me a message telling me how she and her hubby have decided on the name erin because it's SO close to ebin, how cute right? and I didn't say anything for a while... then I told her "It's YOUR daughter, I don't have to like your name choice." lol. I think they're going with Erin Olivia. I HATE it so much. If she'd been a boy, it would've been Ian. Ebin and Ian. They said they were literally looking for the most matchy names they could find. yuck.

Erin Olivia is a fine name, don't get me wrong. But to choose it because of it's proximity to her older brother's name is tacky imo.

I'll tell you, Ebin and Erin's parents will start kicking themselves when they have to call their children for dinner or when one of them is in trouble. My aunt named two of her children Eden and Kenan, and they were always thinking she had called the other.

I like Zoe but without the Y, and Savannah, and Elijah.
