Your name day is actually the day of the year that is associated with your own name. My name is Eva, so my name day is Dec. 24. In my culture (Polish) we actually celebrate name days, and everyone always forgot mine because it's on Christmas Eve! (although, it used to be traditional in some families to look at the calendar when the child was born and pick one of the names for that day!)
If your name is Tabetha, there is a Latvian version, Tabita, with its name day on Dec. 9 :) Another thing to celebrate :)

I was just confused because this is actually a tradition my family follows and it's connected to your name, not your birthday :)

My birthday is connected to all the names related to "Lawrence". It's all right, as a middle name, maybe.
I like Astra and Asteria a lot!! And Filomena has a strange appeal.

It's surprising to me that so many different countries list variations of Susanna as the name for this date. I especially like the Polish names, they're so unique.
