I just came across someone who has a brand new baby boy, who she named Messiah Alexander. Wow. I would never be able to call that kid by his name with a straight face. At least he has a normal middle name he can use.

Seriously, that is my thought too. Call him Josiah already. Just because the word Messiah sounds like it could be a name does not make it good name material.

That is a really strong meaning. If it weren't for that, it would just be a name that wasn't my style but really wasn't that bad.

uhm okay I am on twoish thought patterns here... it is common to have kids named Jesus here (and pronounced the same exact way as the 'son of god' one) so in that sense people might go 'well what's the difference!?' BUT see that was a normal name, it's always been a given name and BEFORE said Jesus there probably were OTHER Jesus... same with Mary and so on...

Why do people treat their child as if it was a dog? You can call your dog TardHeadCuntBrain and it'll still love you, answer to it and not care (it'd be mean and I'd probably not like you though) children though? THEY care... they WILL care and YOU suck for naming your child something so... pretentious to say the least.
