I think Calvin & Hobbes, which I adore, and Calvin from Madeleine L'Engle's books, which is also awesome. I'm right on the edge of perceiving it as either an awful name or one that's neat in a so-clunky-it's-cool way, like Matilda. Cal is a great nickname if Calvin turns out to be too much.
