babynamesThe post about the names of 2009 (SSA) made me wonder which names were the most popular in my country (The Netherlands) in 2009. So I did some googling, and here is the top 20 for each sex!

Just some pronunciation stuff: "ij" sounds kind of like the English "I", and double vowels just sound like...drawn out vowels. It's hard to explain phonetically. Also...short names are common here, so we don't really do nicknames!
