None of the top names are really surprising. Alexander really skyrocketed though! I think it also has to do with the nickname potential.

In 10/2007, the top names were Alexander (8), Oliver (8), James (7), William (7), Elizabeth (9), Audrey (5) and Eleanor (5). So basically...boys names are exactly the same as the were 2 and a half years ago. The girls fluctuate a little more. Then, Charlotte had 4 votes, and Lily had one or less...I guess LIly is pretty trendy though.

In 03/2008, the top names were Elliot (9), Oliver (8), Alexander (6), James (6), Charlotte (9), Amelia (5) and Catherine (5). Elliot, especially spelled like that, basically came out of nowhere. It hasn't been that popular since. Then, William had 5 votes, and Lily had 3.

In 09/2008, the top names were Benjamin (9), Gabriel (7), Nathaniel (7), Harper (6), Catherine (5), Charlotte (5) and Juliet (5). Weird how the both names changed. Alexander had only 2 that time (?), Oliver had 4, William had 6 and James had 4. Lily had 1 or less. And where did Harper come from??

In 07/2009, the top names were Alexander (6), Henry (6), James (5), Julian (5), Oliver (5), Elizabeth (5), Ruby (5), Alice (4), Katherine (4) and Sophia (4). William had 3, and Lily had 1 or less. Nothing too surprising, except maybe the small numbers.

Yess! Thanks, that's awesome. I agree with how_obscure: the classic taste is not surprising, but seeing it lined out like this is very nice! Most of my favorite boy names are on there, but only two of my favorite girl names: Maeve and Audrey.
