Thoughts on Tatum?

I've always loved that it means "bringer of joy"/"cheerful", and I took care of the most adorable little girl with the name years ago, but it seems most people just despise it.

Any good mn suggestions that go with it?

Another I've always loved that most people don't like: Cecily.

What name(s) do you love that seem disliked by most people you mention it/them to?

I like the name Tatum but I don't love it. It seems more like a surname to me.

I don't care for Cecily, but there are much worse names out there.

I like Tatum in theory but in reality I think it's a little too much like tater. I prefer Tamsin which I think has kind of the same feel but is a smidge more upscale.

I also like Cecily. :)

Name I like that most others don't. Hm. My grandfather's names were Grant and Walter and I like (would use) both of those. I also like Ezekiel PURELY for the nickname Zeke, but most people look at me like I'm crazy when I mention that.

I've never been a huge fan of Tatum. I know it's a girl's name, but I've always thought it sounded masculine. I do like the name Cecily a lot, though!

There is a town nearby called Tatum, so to me it isn't a name.

I love Cecily! It was on my names list during my first pregnancy, but my husband really dislikes it. :(

I like Tatum but I've thought of it as a boy's name. The only place I've ever heard it used was on a TV show, and the little boy's nickname was Tater.

My husband and I have tooootally different naming styles so everything I throw out to him he doesn't like. I love the name Kieran but he says it sounds too much like Karen and would never use it!

Tatum is horrific to me. It's like Peyton in feel and sound, kinda. Ugh.

I've never liked Tatum. It just sounds too masculine for me. But, I fully admit that I'm biased because a girl I went to high school with (and hated) named her loud, grubby, tantrum-throwing daughter this and that sort of sealed the deal for me about the name Tatum. Her daughter is Tatum Tallulah Delilah Sparrow-Rose, btw, which to me sounds like diarrhea of the mouth. The kid has a five syllable hyphenated last name too, poor thing.


As for names I love that other people seem to hate: Tirzah, Zipporah, Zev/Zvi, Yael, and Daphna. So, mostly Hebrew names I guess. ;)

the only reason I don't like Tatum is because I see it and think 'Tantrum!' but I'm weird that way...

I've never liked Tatum or Cecily.
As for your last question... I don't know; I've never shared my list with anyone irl. ^^;
