A little boy in my shop today: Nero.

I think I saw a documentary which said that Nero was not really as bad as everyone thinks...but how many people will think 'omg the guy who had his mother murdered'. Or the the emperor who 'fiddled while Rome burned'?

pronounced NAY-ro it also means "black" (masculine version) in italian.
But it's not a name in italian, while Neri is (NEH-ree).
Anyhoo, Nero used to be a legit name for the Romans, so I can't really say it's a bad name, despite its bad connotations. I associate it mostly with Jesus.

I'm learning Italian at the moment so I did consider that. However, it's not pronounced like that at all, so that pretty much cancls it out. It's the Roman emperor for sure.
