These are his friends D: he's 31, I thought they missed these stupid trends D:

Tyelir
Airikah
Melleni

All perfectly lovely names, WTF. I don't understand.

And while I'm here, a question: Are there any names that, for you, just DO NOT WORK on adults? Like, a name you can picture on a child, but not a grown-up?

I ask because I have this immense dislike for Kyle because to me it just sounds like a name for someone under 9. I knew two Kyle's in high school and it just didn't work on a teenager, let alone an adult. Both of them now go by middle names(James and Patrick, for the interested!) now, interestingly enough.

I don't know, I think Kyle ages OK. Cutesy sounding names like Daisy, etc. don't age very well, in my opinion. My friend's daughter is named Honey (her actual name, not a nickname) and while it is cute for a baby/toddler, it's hard to imagine on an adult, kwim?

I so agree with you.
My mom has a friend named Babe, which I'm sure was cute when she was little, but now it just makes me laugh. I have had to call her at work before and I just feel like such an idiot when I call an office and ask "can I speak with Babe?".

I'm wondering if those people were born with normally spelt names but changed them to unique spellings when they were like 18.

I think most nicknames as real names don't age well. That's why they're nicknames and not real names.

Good grief, those spellings are atrocious!

I think Kyle works very well on an adult.

I can't see many of the "aden" names working on adults. "Say good-bye to Grandpa Kaden, Susie."

A lot of trendy names don't seem to fit anyone over 4 - Brooklyn, Nevaeh, Madison, Addison, Austin, etc.

By the time all the Kadens grow up, there will probably be so many Grandpa Kadens and Grandpa Braydens and Grandpa Zadens that it probably won't sound weird. :P

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of with all the names I mentioned. There's going to be a whole generation of old folks with crappy names hanging out in the nursing home together.

I've often thought this same thing, about the -aden names. My SIL named her son Brayden and I hate it even for an 8 month old. I really can't imagine what it will be like when he's 50, 60 or older. Those cutesie names just don't work on adults.

For me, two names that don't really work on adults are Poppy and Pippa. I'm sure there are more, but those two stand out for me because I like them =).

I have to agree with you on Kyle. My best friend is named Kyle, but the name itself has a very juvenile sound to it, and it doesn't seem fit for an adult.

I also feel that way about the names Trevor and Josh, and cutesy girl names like Kylee, Rylee, etc. (Am I going to really going to want to hire a lawyer named Kylee??)

Kaylee, Zane, most hippie names, Madison, Mackenzie, Kennedy, all those trendy names I think will be horrific when people who have to bear them as their own get older.

Cutesy names like Daisy and Poppy; "creative" names; most nicknames used as real names.

Haha, for me it's the other way 'round. I think Kyle sounds like a teen/adult, but not very much like a baby/child.

I'm pregnant with a Kyle Jacob as we speak, haha. I understand tho, i don't feel that way about Kyle but i do about Ashley (which is his older half-sister) and Corey. I know one 35 year old Corey and it just...i don't know. haha

Corey will do just fine.

Nice! For me, Corey Haim or Corey Feldman are faster to come to mind. ;)

I also have names that are the opposite... where i can picture the name on an adult but not a baby. Bruce comes to mind. I just can't picture somebody cooing over a baby Bruce haha.

I think that many nicknames, especially ones that end in 'y' sound, are a bad idea as given names. Bobby, Billy, etc. Even names that are full names but end in y/ee sound juvenile. Kaylee, Hailey, etc.

I've always thought that "Ellie" is a very cute girl's name, but I really hate it for adults.

It is really difficult for me to picture Tyler on an adult.
