I don't know. I think the way you have it spelled is fine... it'd probably be my personal preference.
Also, I don't really get the need to be rude about other people's name choices? She didn't ask for people's opinions on the name, she asked for people's preferences on the spelling.
This. I think I'm almost done posting to this community because I kind of get the feeling that people come here to be rude to others with different opinions and tastes in names. There are nicer ways to disagree or suggest stuff or give advice. Tired of getting bashed and seeing bashing over baby names, which mean a lot to people.
Yeah. Politely expressing a dislike for a certain name is one thing, but some of these comments are just insulting and ridiculous. This is not "Oh No They Didn't - Baby Names".
Err. Is Kasen a real name? I don't think I've ever heard/seen it before. That said, uh... If it's a legit name, then use the legit spelling. I have no real preference (Kasen v. Casen) otherwise, because both look weird/made-up to me. =/
I dunno, it reminds me of cheese for some reason. And I think I prefer Cayson or Caysen, not because I like y's, but they just look more like a name to me and not a cheese.
Well, it's not my kind of name, really, but if you're decided on it... I think I like Casen best. Kasen isn't awful. Kayson is the kind of overelaboration I normally hate, but in this case it seems to make the name more masculine.
Since I have never seen it before, I'll just say Kasen because I'm not sure what else it could be. I do generally like C's better than K's, but Kasen is fine.
I think I would like Cayson best by itself, but I think Kasen looks better with the other names. Kasen isn't really my style, but I think the combo has a pretty nice flow. I'm sorry for the rudeness some of the people here have shown you.
Sounds like a kre8tyve version of Jason, so I can't get past that. There'd be no right spelling. I guess I'd go with Casen since Casey is a real name. Although, I don't like it either.
My wife has a cousin named Casen, so this is how I always imagine it to be spelled, but I can imagine it spelled Cason, Kason, Kasen, and C/Kayson, C/Kaysen, though the 'y' versions are a little feminine imo.
For what it's worth, I actually really like this name and if not for having someone by that name in the family, it would be on our list too.
I think that out of all the spelling others have listed, Cayson looks the best to me. I don't necessarily like the name, though, because it makes me think of an old gangster movie or something "we're casin' the joint."
personally...

Date: 2010-04-27 07:24 am (UTC)Nicholas and James are both family names.. don't like em used as firsts, feels like someone is more favored...

Date: 2010-04-27 07:38 am (UTC)In the case of one member feeling more favored... I would probably just tell everyone that the order used is the flow/sound I preferred.
Anyway, yea, after sitting and looking at the spellings for awhile, I've decided on Kasen.

Date: 2010-04-27 07:24 am (UTC)I generally like the soft way "C" looks, but in this case, I think I prefer the "K" (Kasen). Casen looks like misspelled Casey.
Kason/Cason looks really weird, and those versions with the "Y" thrown in look like the versions "creative" people would use. =(
